GOALS FOR THE YEAR 2012
As
pastor of Father's Arms I have been praying and seeking the Lord about
direction for the new year! These are the things I believe God is
telling to do:
- REACH
THE LOST AND BACKSLIDEN at any cost. We will
have pre-announced FRIENDSHIP SUNDAYS
in which we'll have a pot luck dinner where everyone will feel welcome.
This Sunday's emphasis will be to bring visitors and have a
salvation message and/or testimonies that will bring lead people to
Christ and back to Christ.
- Emphasize RESTORATION
OF THE FAMILY.
This is to include sermons and teachings and/or seminars on
Marriage, Parenting and dealing with troubled children and youth!
- Create and Maintain a Strong Emphasis on our VICTORY IN CHRIST.
This will take us back and renew our strong teaching on The
Authority of the Believer, The Power of Faith and Confession.
- Teach through THE BIBLE STORIES.
We will be teaching lessons that used to be taught in Sunday
Schools and Children's Church but have been lost to some of
the newer generation.
- Start a WAR
ON DRUGS
and Addictions. Our town has had so much trouble and we've
lost
so many young people to drugs and alcohol. It's time to WAKE
UP
and find ways to help in this battle. I want to have some
teachings and guest speakers that are expert in dealing with loved ones
in Addiction.
- Maintain a Strong Emphasis on PRAYER.
We will continue our prayer meetings on Wednesday night and
encourage more prayer! Prayer is our strongest weapon!!
- Renew and Maintain our PUPPET CHILDREN'S MINISTRY.
This is very important to my heart. We've got to
put a strong emphasis on our Children's Ministry.
- RESURRECT
OUR YOUTH CENTER! Although
our youth attend a service at the Assembly of God on Wednesday nights,
It is in my heart that we need to open the youth center for games and
outreach. This will happen, I have forseen it!
- Have WAR
WITH SICKNESS!
This year we will fight sickness with our FAITH, DIET, AND
NATURAL WAYS. I want to have some teachings and even a
seminar on
Health and Nutrition by a local Dr. and Chiropractor. I also
want
to emphasise our stand on DIVINE HEALING from the scriptures!
- I have a goal this year of BETTER COMMUNICATION
with our various ministries in the church. We're going to do
a
better job of getting with your Helps Ministry Team and strategizing
together as well as fellowshipping!
- Through the winter months (when we don't have
to mow and garden) We are going to meet for an HOUR OF POWER in
homes (a new home each month). Different people will take
turns teaching and leading discussion.
- GUEST
MINISTRIES this year include: Sun Stevens (a
Korean woman who found Jesus as a Buddist)w will give her testimony and
Preach, Mike
Ahmed (who found Jesus as a muslem) teaching on the Blood
Covenant, Cliff Clark
(born with cerebral palsy) teaching on the Family, Cornerstone
Baptist Choir from Sikeston will sing for us, Travis Lee
Band will minister in Worship and Special Music.
